Motorcycle Hall of Fame honoree Bud Ekins, best known for stunt-jumping a
motorcycle over a fence in the classic 1963 Steve McQueen movie "The Great
Escape," died Saturday, October 6. He was 77 years old.
Ekins started out as an off-road racer but went on to become a motorcycle dealer and one of Hollywood's most accomplished stunt riders. See his biography in the Hall of Fame.
A memorial service has been scheduled for 4 p.m. December 2 at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.
