The AMA Legends & Champions Weekend kicks off on Friday, Nov. 18,

officially welcome five icons to the Hall of Fame. The class of 2011
includes motocross promoter Stu Peters, magazine editor Phil Schilling,
industry leader Fred Fox, roadracing champion Doug Polen and
motorcycling pioneer Norbert Schickel. In addition to the class of 2011,
the induction ceremony will honor the careers of two existing Hall of
Fame Legends: world champion motocrosser Roger DeCoster and roadracer
Kenny Roberts.
Activities continue on Saturday, Nov. 19, with
the 2011 Motorcycle Hall of Fame Dave Mungenast Memorial Concours
d'Elegance bike show. The show will feature some of the country's finest
original and restored classic motorcycles.
Then, on Sunday,
Nov. 20, the AMA honors the best riders in amateur racing and tomorrow's
future stars at the 2011 AMA Racing Championship Banquet. Not only will
all 2011 AMA Racing champions be invited to take to the stage to
receive their personalized AMA Racing No. 1 plates, but special honors
will be presented to this year's top racing talent, standout promoters
and inspiring individuals.
A number of the weekend attendees
are also expected to attend the season finale of the AMA GEICO
EnduroCross Series on Saturday evening at the Orleans Arena. Ticket
information for that event is available at EnduroCross.com.
