Motorcycle Hall of Famer sets land speed record

The Bakker Motorsports sidecar entry at the BUB Speed Trials re-wrote the class record this year.

Running in the SCBG 1350 class (SideCar Blown Gas) the Suzuki Hayabusa-powered machine move the record from the old 143 mph to 158.161 mph. The team was also able to breach the 160 mph mark with a pass of 162 mph.

Designed and built by Bob Bakker of Bakker Motorsports, the machine is ridden by AMA Hall of Famer Larry Coleman and passengered by longtime Bonneville passenger and multi-record holder Warren Ryan.
