of the offer, right? Chances are you spend 40 hours a week with such a partner already, because many companies will match employees’ charitable contributions to worthy nonprofit organizations,
such as the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum.
How does a matching gift work? Let’s talk about Jim and Kathy, enthusiasts who want to help preserve our motorcycling heritage. Before they write their $100 check to the Museum, Jim goes to his company’s Human Resources office and asks if the company makes matching gifts. He learns that the company does, so he takes the matching gift form from his HR representative and sends it in to the Museum with his and Kathy’s check. The Museum then works with Jim’s company to secure its matching $100. By asking a simple question, Jim and Kathy have gained an additional gift for the Museum.
